One of the air guides on my 1982 hydrodyne was leaking onto my lap. Thought the tube came undone. Snipped it and put it back on. Still leaked. Pulled the guts out and when using air pressure from my compressor - found the diaphragm was split (the two gray disks) - right where there was a white hard-water stain. My guess is that is my problem. Is there a fix? Could I glue them back together? See pics below. Thanks - Steve Banovetz 608-320-2338
I've heard gluing them changes their accuracy. I never needed to do that as I had a lot of them and plenty of spares. Don't think I have any left though. Don't test them with an air compressor. Anything more than 50mph which is 30psi will blow them up like this. The 2025 model just can't handle more than 30psi. I'd replace it with a perfect pass precision pro speedometer and be done with it.
