i have been looking for the HID for my Hydrodyne and until now there was no numbers to be found. I have been working on replacing the floor, stringers and transom and as i was pulling out the rotten plywood from the transom a aluminum plate fell off the plywood and the numbers are A0720515, i am not sure what these represent as the HID numbers were letters and numbers equaling 12 where this plate has eight, nothing else on the plate but these, does anyone have any idea or have seen similar? ty take care
I have never heard of a stringer boat with a number like that. I thought the stringer boats coincided with the law requiring the HIN's. The Crosby Marine HIN "CMA" has been reassigned. I do not know how to determine the age with that number. Ab Crosby Jr posts on the FaceBook Hydrodyne page. He would be your best bet. jim
ty I can not find any hull numbers so is there anything i need to do to be able to register the boat I live in Canada
The plate you found is the hull number. The requirement for the 12 digit number started in 71 or 72. If the boat is older, it will not have the modern number.
I just finished restoring a 73 Hydrodyne and could not find an HIN so I just went to DOT and they gave me a new one. (Kentucky)
