Diamond Water Ski Show Team in Orlando needs a skeg for an old 18. I think thats what it is. Can you help!!!
Well, You did own a Dyne 18 about 10 years ago. Your guys beat me to it by one day. Contact Tom Miller at: Fiberglass Products and Boat Repair State Rt. 1 St. Joe, In 46785 260 337 5636 Fax 260 337 1274 Toll free 800 861 8094 If the skeg tore out, you may need more than a skeg. Don't let the boat get wet with open screw holes. I can take a look at it in a couple of weeks if you like. jim
One more thing, we've been running the boat like that for some time now. Other members of the team didn't realize it needed a skeg.
You need to check the keel and balsa core for moisture. In the mounting holes. If there is moisture or exposed wood, check with Tom. Jim LeRoy
Thanks, When I noticed that there is supposed to be a skeg there I gave the holes a quick visual inspect. They don't look great. I'm thinking of cutting an access panel in the floor and reinforcing the area before I put the new skeg on. What do you think?
By the way, again I'm not sure if we have met, but your name does sound very familiar. I seem to think that you may have answered one of my ads for lakefront real estate?
Check with Tom on that. I called the number on your site to see if you were still around a couple of years ago. I chatted with someone about possible show venues. jim
I will, thanx I am the Diamond Pres. now and I am very interested in talking with you about venues or anything else that could help the team. We need to grow and are speaking with the City of Orlando about getting a Special Use Permit that will allow us to ski in Lake Ivanhoe without having to abide by all of their rules. I am hopeing that this works out. In the meanwhile if you have any suggestions i would be happy to listen.
