Bit of a boating novice question here, :hi: I have a 2006 Dyna ski - got it ~3 years ago. Have always garage-ed it, always drained out plug and cleaned out after boating. I notice what seems to be a soft area on the flooring behind the drivers seat. could this be rot, or is it an area between the stringers? Hate to start tearing up carpeting just to check it, is there a way to do this cleanly just to inspect the wood?
Anyone have ant reccomendations of shops that do good boat work? Im afraid that, after pulling up a section of carpet on my dynaski and checking underneath, that the floor's going to have to be redone. :toilet:
Depending on your location, D&S Marine just south of the state line in Roscoe IL does great work at a good price too. They are well worth the drive and have lots of hydrodyne/dynaski experience. Their number is (815) 623-6846. Otherwise fountain of youth for boats in North Prarie does good too.
When you re-install the seats, use plenty of sealer on the mounting screws. If the carpet gets wet, the water can enter the wood through those screws if they are not sealed. When I had mine re-done I mounted the seats myself. jim
Since you are in Wi, you could take it to Iola and have the builder fix it. http://www.boatsbyjohn.com/ Dwight
Have you contacted John at the Dyna-Ski shop? He is a very upfront guy and knows these boats better than anyone. Hopefully he can work with you and solve your problem. I've used his services and he was more than fair with me. Bob
I sent him some emails last sept. but never heard back from him. I'll try sending another one and give him a call tomorrow. The biggest issue is distance - Iola is a bit of a trek from where I'm at (La Crosse,WI).
Try calling John @ (715) 445-2059 Talk to him or his son Zach. I'm sure the miles you drive will be well worth it. Bob
