Note: received this email and asked if I could post these pics for the owner, he was ok with it. Beautiful boat that has been modified with Mastercraft style tow pylon and some nice paint touches. One of the best I've seen.

Thought you might like to see an old hydrodyne. This boat came from Tommy Bartlets Dells show in 1986 with a 200 HP merc. I put a new 200 on in '90. I completely rebuilt the boat in 89 stripping it down to the bare hull, in and out. It now has a 3/4" pvc foam core floor glassed on both sides. Extremely light and strong. It is great to see these classics still being built. I have a 2003 Nautique also, but if I could only have one boat, it would be the dyne. Owner Michael Yankaitis

Great looking boat. A ton of time in finishing the interior.

What's the tennis ball on the dash pod for?

I really like how they did the side walls. great storage, and it would help support the gunnel if you use a boom!

I like it. The pylon gives it a nice clean look.

Sweet boat. Nice side walls. I like how it has the "newer" style paint job down the sides swooping onto the bottom part. Good job. Like the cup holders too.

I finally joined Hydrodyners and to my surprise, I see pictures of my pride and joy. This boat is a rocket ship. I have a 17" SS prop on a 1986 200 hp merc. The coming pads on the side provide storage and stiffness. I do use a boom that anchors to the pylon. The rear facing passenger seat flips up giving storage up to the nose of the boat for skiis, etc. The pylon, drivers seat, and "competition ski boat" decal all came from the MasterCraft factory. I am starting a new project boat. It is another 18', but this one will have twin 150 straight six mercs.

Thanks for the update on the tennis ball. For all who were wondering, it covers the mount for a mirror and protects the boat cover.

Good luck with the new project! Who cut the giant square hole in the deck?

The hillybilly hatch was cut before it came to me. The storage would maybe hold a 6 pack at most. Shame to do so much damage for such little space. I have burned a lot of brain cells figuring out how to fix the deck.
