Re: 2007 Show Ski Nationals The new waterpark at the Clocktower is already open. I saw an article in the newspaper about it not too long ago. Admission is extra to the waterpark, but the hotel has a pretty nice pool with some slides and other things for kids (and big kids too). We usually spend most of our free time at the pool. It's better to get there early or the pool starts stacking up with 4-tiers and other weird things. The suspense is killing me about Dynegreg's boat.
Re: 2007 Show Ski Nationals [quote="Swvski1"The suspense is killing me about Dynegreg's boat.[/quote] Still been searching for one at a decent price. Hard to find one that is well taken care of. But then again I am just a "little" picky when it comes to my things. Hopefully I will find one before August. And no is isn't a fliver, or a pontoon. I already inherited a Supra from the "P"s. Mom and Dad don't enjoy zoomin around the chain anymore, they always use their "somewhat new" pontoon. I tell my dad he is getting soft in his old age (67). Greg
Re: 2007 Show Ski Nationals P.S. Can you tell I like chrome just a little bit? P.S.S. Happy be-lated B-day Mark. All the cool people have birthdays in February. Wink Greg
Re: 2007 Show Ski Nationals Sweet Bike! I had a 2002 Suzuki GSXR 1000 which I sold after one year and only a bit over a thousand miles. I miss it but the only person I went riding with moved to another suburb and so I wasn't riding it anymore. Plus I was sort of afraid of the thing. I'd love to get a Hyabusa some day, which would accomodate my aging back a bit better!
Mark, 1300cc + extremely light bike= certain death! I will not even ride my friend's Busa. I don't trust myself on that bike. Especially after seeing the things he did on that bike without even trying. Way too dangerous. I had another friend be in the hospital for four months after high siding around a corner, he actually died for about 3 minutes, and then they massaged his heart back to life after he was not responding to the paddles in the E.R. Stay away from that bike. Greg
Re: 2007 Show Ski Nationals You are basically describing my GSXR 1000, which is lighter than the Busa and very nearly as quick. I could lift the front wheel in 6th gear. Problem was, I never really could tell if my front wheel was on the pavement or not. Most of the time it wasn't if I was accelerating. This resulted in many close calls. The front would come up very fast and unexpectedly when you were twisting in the power. I decided I was too old for it. I guess you are saying the Busa will be as bad or worse. I had always assumed that it would behave better than the Gixxer because it is heavier and longer, but it sounds like I'm wrong. I've never ridden one. Anyway, my wife would laugh at me if I tried to get permission to go buy one.
Re: 2007 Show Ski Nationals We discussed a couple of weeks ago that many of us are boaters and pilots. Now I see a discussion about motorcycles. I mentioned I was a pilot also and however don't have a racing bike I do have a Honda 1800VTX. I have come to the conclusion that we are all nutty daredevils. How do we hide this danger from our wives, cause it is an artform. (Maybe lot's of life insurance) The webmaster should have a section in our profile that lists all the toys we all enjoy. Also a yes or no on whether our wives know about them. Just for laughs, Marty Segal
Re: 2007 Show Ski Nationals Excellent idea. The identity of interests among us is sort of interesting and worth studying a bit further just for the sake of it.
Re: 2007 Show Ski Nationals I probably would be like alot of our members on this web site with the whole pilot thing, it was very easy to get attracted to when you lived in an entire neighborhood of pilots from United. Now all of their siblings have followed in their foot steps. When i was a senior in high school i was diagnosed with diabetes< therefore all of my childhood dreams went down the toilet in a big hurry when the doctor told me
