The farthest away I have gone is about 500 miles thus far. I frequent Lake San Antonio California, Lake Mead Nevada, The Colorado River in California and Lake Havasu in Arizona. The old trailer gets about 3000 miles a year since everyone of those lakes is about 200-300 miles from my house. Lake Elsinore, my home lake is only 15 miles away. Daniel
I'm sure dad will win this one. But, last summer we towed the trailer about 600 miles (one way) from St. Louis to the U.P. We used to drive about 45 miles round trip to go to the river, but now we go about 4 blocks .
I have towed that boat all over the place. I guess the farthest is from our place in FL to the UP of MI which is about 1550. I pulled it through the mountains of TN when it was 100 degrees with the SS. We went from FL to IL every summer for years with it. Our place to the Chicago area is about 1200. jim
You forgot to mention you like to trailer it through the McDonald's drive-thru. Pete enjoys doing that too.
I haven't towed boats for use, but I have delivered them for Dad and Tom when they were in Spencerville. Delivered to Conn, Vermont, Palm Beach, Fla for shipment to Aruba. Just last summer I went to Houston, TX to pickup a Hydrodyne for Tom to refurbish then the customer came and picked it up in Wabash. Tom and I also towed one to Thomahawk, WI for the 3-event Nationals (way back when). What a way to see the country. Bev
I would have to say my longest tow was a few years ago when our club bought a new 03 dyne from Tom Miller. We met him in Gary Indiana. It was about a 300 mile trip. Tom or Bev may remember that day because we traded in two old hydrodynes that day.
I towed my Elgin 1,050 miles from the Central Coast of CA to Redding, CA for the "Whiskey Run" boat meet at Whiskeytown Lake. First time in a caravan last year and alone this past August. Other than that, Lake San Antonio the lake I frequent during the summer is 174 miles round trip.
Left Phoenix, AZ and drove straight to Chicago to survey and load a 1965 Chris Craft Connie 37' onto a low boy for shipment to Northern California. We then continued on to BFE, Indiana and picked up an early 70's original MasterCraft Stars & Stripes (with blue gelcoat). Then turned and headed back to AZ. Did it all in about 3 days, total mileage was probably close to 4,000 miles. I will never never never do it again.
I Left Waukegan, Illinois on October 6,2006, and arrived in Lewisville, Texas on the 8th approx. 1000 miles one way. Just keep close tabs on those trailer bearings and you could tow it to the Moon!
I have not towed my dyne all that far,but i will be taking vacation time to attend the nationals next year.(my family and my dyne will attend also) I hope some of us could get together at nationals i am really looking foreward to meeting any and all that are attending.
