wow.... that boat looks scary similar.. I do recall seeing that ad before but now I am looking at it in a different perspective..

I thought my dad said my uncle built our ski pylon, but that boat seems to have the same one as ours.

and they certainly are very different.. that i/o has the steering on the opposite side!... I think its a small bubble but can tell for sure. If that ever pops up it will be easy to identify..

and did we now identify 4 of the first 10 plywood decks.. 2 in this forum and 2 in this ad?..

This website is spectacular.. i love that you guys put this together and share all the in depth knowledge that you have.. My parents have just located Dennis and he only lives 8 miles away from them.. they are headed over to talk with him to see if we can find our more info.

You never know about pylons. You're uncle could have copied theirs or they could have copied his.

I can't decide if the outboard deck in the add is glass or plywood. It might be glassed over plywood. The aft deck looks different from the other prototypes.

I'm pretty sure the ad is plywood.. I can see the rear is the same as ours..

the most noticable item is if you look at where the skier has his foot.. the vertical portion that goes into the motor well .. then behind the ski around to the side.. that vertical portion.. they are differnt heights..

this is maybe me wanting to see more.. but you can see the slightest bit of a shadow behind the ski..

so.. not sure if you are aware of this.. the motor well, the side, the front deck.. the whole top surface of the boat is glassed over plywood.. if you take the rub rail off you see that plywood edge all the way around and its screwed into a curved piece of wood all the way around that is attached to the hull..

the pylon.. I'll have to check with my dad again.. I am starting to recall that it had a pylon that was too tall to fit into a garage... my dad and uncle cut and hinged it and put a light on it.. we have since reversed all of that but I believe that is the change they did.

Its pretty obvious.. if you look at the four corners of the deck where it comes into where people sit you can see there is a .. maybe 1/2" overlap.. of the plywood.. vertical pieces actuallymake a corner under this over lapped corner.. you can see it in the pictures I posted of our boat pretty easily... you probably already have noted this

You are probably right. I have never seen one in person.
