I am going to restore my 1962 Hydrodyne 1600 I just purchased. Any pointers would be helpful. I will probably have alot of questions for you guys. Especially what was on it originally. It appears original. I will post pics with this. Any info will help. My name is Troy and I live in Oregon, Ohio(Toledo basically)419-691-5232 annlindsay1234@bex.net 1.what size motor you suggest and what kind? 2.what was original colors 3.back seat???not sure it had one
Are you thinking vintage motor or modern? If you are thinking vintage, I think the inline 6 Mercury is a cool looking motor. jim
Check out this image in the media section. It shows a back seat and what your boat would look like with a 4cyl merc. There is a bunch of other pics in the media section also: http://www.hydrodyners.com/ads.php Daniel
Another ad also states Max HP at 90hp. Given the shortness of the hull that is preobably a good number. Note: After 1980 engines where rated at the prop vs. crank. Example: My 1973 115 merc inlines are actually 90hp, 150s became the 115 etc... Daniel
I'm looking at a johnson 33hp outboard. Do you guys think that will push it??? I want to pull my small children on a raft for fun. Guy wants 210.00 for motor and controls 1967 Johnson 33hp.
