Hi All: Mid-October is about the limit for me but those friends with dry suits continue into Late Oct-Nov. I don't favor the blue feet and the pain that you get when the blood recirculates into the appendegies. Photos of Neosho Pond (North of oconomowoc, WI) prior to removing the course for the season. One of the photos below is of a friend in a shorty. It was a sunny day but the water temp was 52 degrees and air temp was 47, as I recall. Kevin-
Mark, Somewhere among our videos, there is one of a chain Skimmer show where she does a canoe paddle toe hold. She did it regularly in the show. The club drivers asked me what speed and I knew their speedos were off, so I told them just fast enough to get the spray out of her face and that seemed to work. jim
Thanks Jim: Got to love the fall colors in the background. We're skiing the course at the Neosho Pond tomorrow and pulling it for the season. The ski group is heading to Dale Hollow Lake, KY on Saturday for a week on a 70' house boat, two tow boats, and two courses. I'll ski tomorrow but will forgo the KY trip; no vacation time left. One of my sisters lives in Sleepy Hollow near Elgin and my other sister lives in Geneva, IL. My brothers are both cheeseheads now (Sorry, Wisconsin people). We grew up in DeKalb - corn country - but we were upstate 8 so we played Elgin/Larkin in sports Mark, I went to Larkin. We competed against Dekalb all the time. Use to live in Elgin all my life. My sister still does the canoe paddle at the house. Kinda funny to watch. You gotta try it. Greg
Mark, Thanks for the compliments on my skiing. That is very refreshing. The guys over on showskiers.com make it a hobby to make fun of swivel skiers. I've been to a couple of Minoquabats shows too. I like your line about the "berry pickers". I'll have to remember that one.
Confessions of my Seinfeld Aliases Ok, now that I brought up the whole -making fun of swivel skiers- thing, I thought I better take some preventative measures over here. I took on the anti-swivelites (as I like to call them) over on showskiers last year with a little survey and since then things seemed to improve. One picture is missing from someone's post. It was a picture of "No -fat swivel skiers" on a coffee cup. Back then you didn't have to login and you could post under any bogus name. Here is it: http://www.showskiers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1431
There are some brutal discussions on that website. I recall a year or so ago it was the outboard ski boaters vs. the inboard ski boaters who got into it and it was just short of a war. Myself, I always loved watching my sister do the headstand on the disk with the double handle rope and the 360s on the disk. Anytime you can go in a circle while whaterskiing, let alone a bunch of circles, you've got a good bit of balance management going on. It impresses me.
If any of you are interested in meeting up on the Fox River in St. Charles, just let me know. I'll provide the boat, but it won't be a dyne <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" border="0" alt="Sad" title="Sad" />
