    I like that. very cool!!

It looks like you will be able to shift and trim at the same time. I need to do that since I operate off a beach.

What motors are you going with?

I plan on a pair of the new 4S Merc 150's. They are 40lbs ea heavier than the 2S but I am putting a custom 36 gal tank way up in the bow and the batteries behind that.

I like the tank idea. Have you mocked it up? I can tell you from experience that you will need some really heavy gauge battery cables.

I have roughly mocked it up. I can't finalize it until i compolete the floor as I may have to elevate the floor forward. I am an engineering on the fly guy Jim and what I build comes from what I made yesterday. The custom tank will fit the contours of the bow and will have max capacity very forward.

I am also a licenced electrician and so do know that the #2 wires for the extended run should be fine.

I think the term "resto-mod" applies to this project. I am taking a classic hull and putting all modern stuff in it. it will be awhile but I can't wait to shove those two throttles forward and experience Hydrodyne acceleration!

That is the type tank I would use. If I ever do another tank, it will conform to the hull well forward, but it will be an 18. I don't really need it, I seldom have more that 10 gallons in my existing tank. I have a very light engine.

I will have 2 motors but those 4 strokers are really easy on the gas - especially below 3000rpm. I also have alot of kids and grandkids and this boat will get alot of use once it's in the water. I am going to initially prop it at 19" SS with a cup because I have one already. I am thinking of eventually going to a pair of 23's because I will probably never pull more than 2 or 3 and the 23's would allow ski speeds at 3000rpms.

The custom tank will cost alot but no one makes a tank or a pair that will fit in the available space and leave enough leg room or room for batteries under the deck and have enough capacity. In for a penny in for a pound...

My late father loved classic old cars and when he passed he had 2 really nice ones fully resored - a 1932 Buick coupe and a 30 Packard sedan. I do not intend to wait that long and I have the Venom raceboat and the Hydrodyne. The Venom is modern and so will be the Dyne.

Always nice to talk to a fellow pilot.
