The brochure that kevinb posted says that it had a false floor, probably plywood with stringers just like the series 2 18 skiers and the 20's.

This also means that it was probably built in the 70's

    Hey Folks:

Sorry I did not indicate the date of the sales sheet; it was for a 1967 17.5 V-hull. To the best of my knowledge, the Tournament Skier changed to a false floor in the early 1970's and the core for the late 60's hulls were susceptable to water intrusion becaise of hardware penetrations (for seating, etc.). Tom Miller might be the person to bring this discussion to as Hydrodyne may have started the false floors (stringers and deck) in other models in the 1960's.

Nadochef, please provide some detailed pictures of the existing floor so that we can see what your dealing with. Replacing some stringers and placing a false floor (ply deck) over them is a long weekend (or two), but if you are dealing with the core as a final base (or having to redo someone elses recore "handy work"), the project will be much more involved if not done installed correctly.

Pictures speak volumes. Attached is a pic of my deck replacement about 10 years ago. if it doesn't look similar to this for a subfloor, you likely do not have a false floor.

    Hope this helps,

    Kevin-
