Hi, I am a new member. I picked up a 16' outboard, picture attached. It has an Evinrude 85 HP model 85993 E which appears to be manufactured in 1969. It also has the ride-guide steering. I found some price sheets on Fiberglassics that show the 1600 was manufactured in '61-'62-'65-'66 & '67. On this site is the brochure shot below that appears to be the same Hydrodyne model. I see from other posts that there is little chance of finding an ID plate. Does anyone have some information as to when this might have been manufactured? I pulled the plugs and gave each cylinder a shot of marvel, turned the head and let it sit a few hours. Fired up around try 4-5. the boat looks rough but I'm thinking of changing the lower unit oil and dropping it in the water this weekend as is just to see how it does. Might be a keeper and candidate for restoration. Any info on the boat would be appreciated (original color? colors available that year? Difference between standard, deluxe & custom? Value?)
