Would like to learn what I can about the 1994 Grand Sport. I am in the market for a used ski boat and have come across several of these. I have recently begun researching this era of Hydrodyne and have become intrigued. I see they are somewhat a product of the Brendella partnership split and seem to have a good reputation. I am not neccessarily looking for the best wake in the industry but really a nice family ski boat that rides and drives well. I am a competent single skier and beginning wakeboarder and have kids and their friends that are learning to board. I have not found anything negative said about these boats, and again would be interested in comments regarding this boat and the Pro Boss 351 motor. Thanks!

I am not aware of a partnership between Brendella and Hydrodyne. Where did you find this information?

The are two Grand Sports on my lake and the owners like them. I drove a new one in 96 and it was a good solid boat. It does not want to spin, and I like that.

The boats have a balsa core bottom which is the best construction in my opinion. It makes the hull stiff and strong.

Somewhere around the year 2000 the Hydrodyne name was owned by a gent out west and Brendella now Calabria started rebadging some of their boats as Hydrodynes and utilizing some of the former Hydrodyne dealer network in the Midwest. I don't think too many of them were sold.

Anything from the 90s would have been built in Indiana with an actual Hydrodyne mold utilizing the balsa core construction.

My info was just from my research on the internet, probably posted on a forum. So it appears the 94 would be a true Hydrodyne then and not a rebadged Brendella. Good to know, thank you.

This is true. Calabria boats owns the rights to the Hydrodyne name. Anything after 2002 I believe was a rebadge.

Here is the Trademark Info: You will see that Bob Jessen owns the name (He owns Calabria)
