    Hello all!

    Burning question here.....

My 225 Optimax has always sent some level of vibration through the boat if the engine is in the full down position and/or if I am at lower speeds, short of plane, etc.

It seems to me that the vibration is more pronounced this year, and I sometimes notice it even at 20 or 25 MPH. If I let go of the steering wheel, the wheel vibrates and makes a vibration noise. Once I speed up over 30MPH it is more or less gone.

Any thoughts? Can this be from a damaged prop? I have only a little superficial damage on my Mirage Plus 19" prop but it is possible that it could have a blade out of pitch.

I'd be interested in your thoughts. Thanks!

    Mark,

My boat has the same vibration since day one with the engine trimmed all the way in. I just give the trim button a litttle blip "up" and it goes away. You might want to have the prop looked at and repaired. Find a shop that can check it for balance.

Sounds like a good place to start.

I'm used to the vibration with full down trim - it just seems worse even when it is not trimmed all the way down.

    Thanks Bob!

Thanks Bob. Good to be back. I've been incredibly tied up over the last year but I am opening up a bit more free time - After more than 4 years I have stepped down as president of the airport board in Naperville so that should free up a lot of time. Given that I don't get paid for that - it is time to unload the burden and let someone else do it for awhile! :good:
