Dear marine engine experts: I have an original 68 Dyne with a V8 Ford 302 Interceptor On my distributor, I'm getting a misfire from a spark arching between one of my plug wires and just one of the metal clips that holds my distributor cap to the distributor. Before you throw out obvious suggestions that I have a cracked cap or wire, I have ordered and replaced the cap, the rotor, and all of the plug wires. If I cram a thick piece of insulating rubber between the clip and the wire, the misfiring problem goes away. I'm not an experienced engine guy--anything else it could be?
