1961 hydrodyne w volvo outdrive.jpg hydrodyne view 2.jpg I have been thinking about one of these for years. This particular unit runs well and is mostly original. Has the BB70 engine and Volvo outdrive. Has a few scratches and dings. Windshield is cracked. Bimini cover needs some sewing repair. I am having a hard time establishing a value range for this. Any thoughts?
    Many thanks!

    Hi Bill, and welcome.

These years are prone to absorbing water in the core. The test is to tap the bottom below the spray rails with something like a wood mallet or the butt end of the handle of a wood handle hammer. A dry hull produces sort of a sharp noise. A wet hull produces sort of a dead sound. The hull above the spray rails has no core and should have sort of a sharp sound.

If the core has water, I would walk away from it. I don't know what it is worth. Just bear in mind that it is old and can have hidden problems.
