I have a 1962 Hydrodyne inboard/outdrive ... the motor runs and the outdrive works ... it's been stored for a long time ... needs to be restored ... I believe this is the same model used by President Kennedy?? This boat is in fair/good condition Looks like all the parts are there except for the back part of the interior where I believe there were seats. 4cyl Volvo engine ... runs but I'm sure it will need some maintenance. Includes the trailer. e-mail xajax11@excite.com I can send pictures to interested folks. Thanks for looking at this thread.
Does the engine have one or two carbs? Do you have extra parts like the flag mast that goes in the bow light or propellers, etc?
Jim, Thanks for the suggestion ... I've been looking for the right "classifieds" to post it in. Still not sure where to find classifieds that are reaching the right folks ... I believe I have a classic model ... it needs restoration ... it's not a "speed boat" ... it's a 50+ year old classic speed boat. I have gotten a few low ball offers using the Free and paid classifieds ... these folks look at you weird when you start to explain the features ... they are looking for a "Weekend boat" ... this boat is in my estimation a diamond in the rough ... and a great boat for the right person who wishes to restore it ... near as I can tell, they are not making any more of these 1962 model boats. Your suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks for responding. Tony J.
Near as I can tell ... everything is there ... IT WILL NOT BE SOLD PIECEMEAL ... it's the whole boat or nothing. I'll have to check on the carbs ... really have not paid that much attention to it ... heard it run ... saw the prop spin ... Like I said ... it's a great start to a restored classic.
I believe Jim was referring to the Classifieds section of this site, and I've started a post there for you. People looking to buy boats aren't necessarily going to look in the main section here and find it.
Thanks Bryan, that is what I meant. Sorry I was not very clear. Posting pictures and giving the general location of the boat will probably help. You could also go to the pictures and restoration sections and see what is involved in restoring that boat. It is also possible to correspond privately with other owners here. If you need help with any of that, just ask. jim
Tony, if it has 2 carbs, then it is the Volvo 110 hp model, and if it has one carb, then it is like mine with the Volvo 80 hp BB70 engine.
I'm thinking it's the 80hp model ... but I'm not absolutely sure ... try and check it this evening (it's 95+ outside so it may take a while) ';^)
