    Edd,

Were you able to get the 300SX's for the triple rigs?

    Thanks for the help.

I assume that the "adaptor harness" is what converts the throttle wiring harness (8 pin plus four wires) to the 14 pin outlet in the engine. Is that right? Do the four wires that stick out of my 8 pin plug plug into the four wires that appear to stick out of the adaptor harness plug?

Attached are some pictures of my tach harness, which I just got. There is a tan wire which the diagram says is a temperature wire but there is also a tan w/ blue stripe which the wiring diagram says is "alternate temperature/warning horn." The diagram shows this wire going to a warning horn. However, I think there is already a warning horn built into my throttle. Is that right? Also, which wire do I use for the temp gauge - the tan or the tan/blue?

    Thanks for your help!!

Hey, nice seat. Looks sharp in the red white and blue. Mark your boat is looking unbelievable. Nicest restore I have seen by far.

I wish I lived closer to you. I'd be jumping right in there to help ya. I'm having flashbacks of when I built my Dyne from scratch. Good memories.

Yes to both your questions on the main harness. Here's the picture of the W/H and adapter.
I will have to look under the dash on the tachs as it has been awhile since I have wired an anlog tach. As far as the temp and the warning horn I will find out if it is a simple wire switch or if you need to switch sensors.

dynebob1, stay tuned for an update. Wink

Thanks for the nice words on the seats. I had the manufacturer send me a bunch of color samples. I also had a bunch of color samples sent from the decal manufacturer. Then I sifted through - Oh... I don't know, about 50 pictures of Hydrodynes to figure out what seemed like the correct colors. Then I matched the seat colors to the decals - and matched the trailer paint colors to the seats and decals. I have such a stupid amount of time invested in just the color selection that I'm sure it would make Tom and Ab, Jr. laugh. You're always welcome to stop by - I know you've got a relative in the area here. Let me know when you'll be out this way.

A picture is worth a thousand words. It never occurred to me that my main wire harness would not match up to my engine until you posted these pictures and then I went and looked at my motor. My engine setup manual shows the engine plug for a 2002 Optimax - because my frame IS a 2002. However, when I bought the engine (new in the crate), the dealer worked out a deal with Mercury whereby they swapped a complete new 2006 powerhead for the 2002 powerhead (I guess there were some problems with the older Optimaxes so Mercury agreed to do this as part of the purchase deal).

Accordingly, my engine is really a 2006 and some things ARE different - one of those differences being that I need the adapter harness for the 8 to 14 pin conversion. I ordered the harness today. I can't thank you enough for your help and for the pictures.

It was the one about the extra plug at the end of the data cable for the smartcraft monitor. I assume it just sits unconnected under the dash because it doesn't plug into the monitor and I don't have any other smartcraft gauges.
