I found a great site (I might have told everyone about them before)

    http://outboardparts.com

I have used them many times, they are a great source for older Mercury and OMC parts. They even have a company now that makes a replacement for the CDI (Switch Box) on old Merc Inline 6 Engines. The part is only $208.00 and it replaces the box and coil with a unit that is compact.

Check them out and buy something from them if you need parts. I have purchased Plug Wires, Rectifiers, Water Pumps, and Seals from them in the past with no issues.

Whats up? You have 2 mercs i have just one it is an 85 with less than 700 hrs on it. I was wondering if thier is an ez way to up the HP from 150?to me in the book it looks like every thing is almost the same for 150 175 and 200.Is it just diferent carbs or is thier lots more.the reason I ask is that I had trouble getting 2 deep barefooters out of the water.I have two props a 19 p and also a stainless high five.Well thanks in advance see ya, Pete

The cheapest way for more thrust for your rig is a 15 pitch prop. The porting is different on the 175 and 200 and most of the hp gain is on the top end, which is not going to help you, assuming that you have a 2.4 liter. If yours is a 2 liter then a 2.4 would help.

A 2.5 liter powerhead would help more.
