    Hey there,

I have been reading about all of the rough weather and the snow up north. Stay warm and keep warm thoughts about the summer in your heads.

saw the news this morning about all the snow at O'Hare and the OK storms too. Man, aren't you glad we are in CA Daniel ! I swear I don't think I would survive in snow country!

Hope everyone is coming out of it ok. One of our guys from another board up in WA had a tree come down on his boat! Sounds like not too much damage, but the pits just the same.

If I have to endure the cold, then bring on the snow. This is what a Hydrodyne actually looks like in the winter. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />

    Hey All:

A week ago I was finishing up the fall cleanup around the yard, winterizing lawn equipment, and starting to batten down everything for winter (it was 55 degrees). I looked at the weather on thursday night (mid-night) and ended up in the yard finishing up with a couple issues that were going to get buried (my neighbors think were nuts so this is not too unusual for them).

Snow came in yesterday between 4 and 5 am and didn't let up until around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. We got 12" here in Brookfield, WI but some of those down on the IL WI border are probably still digging out of 12 to 17" (Twinrig and Dean to name a couple).

Time to shift gears, hit the slopes, and make some arcs in the white stuff. liquid or frozen....its all good. :)

    Kevin-

Yeah we got hit bad here in Rockford. My street still isn't completely plowed clean yet. The city is just "plowed" with work. (Hey I made a funny!) We definately got over a foot of the white stuff here. Since the city was soooo behind, all of us neighbors pitched in and hit our street with the snow blowers. It was kinda cool to see everyone helping each other out. I always feel bad for the elderly this time of year. I have two neighbors that are in their 80s, and I always do their driveway and sidewalk so they don't have to brave the cold. Gotta love having a nice big snowblower! I guess that is the price you pay though when you have a nice big driveway.

We're enjohying it here in Naperviile, which was among the hardest hit areas. The kids and I have been on the snowmobile all day. We live at a small residential airpark (airport) and we can take the sled right along the taxiways and on the grass runway (we only use the paved runway in the winter, obviously). I've got a great rig set up to pull the kids on a sled behind the snowmobile. Not quite like waterskiing but it will have to do. We still get to breathe lots of 2 stroke exhaust!

Still yet, I'm already looking forward to next summer and (hopefully) a completed, ready to rock Hydrodyne!

Hey the West Coast gets cold here too. I think it got down into the 40's last night. BRRRRR! Later I have to mow the lawn and then clean the pool. Maybe after that I'll mix up some Pina Coladas and work on the tan. And everyone always bags on us folks out west......

Just kidding a bit. It has been really cold here, but watching the news reports from the midwest is a bit crazy. Hope everyone stays warm and safe. All this talk of snomobiling is giving me a wild hair.......

    JB,
You can waterskip the snomo in the summer but only on fresh water, salt eats those things alive. The new sleds with the mid-length paddles should be about perfect, but if it sinks, an old sled can be recovered, dried out and run again. Bobby Allison used to waterskip a lot down in Alabama, I think. T-shirts and jeans are way easier to swim in than snowmobile suits if you have a bad day.

Yeah, like tanning weather here on the Central Coast, CA! It was like 34 degrees in the morning and went to 75 by noon! Whoa! This has been going on for about a week now.

On another board I frequent there was a post this morning by one of my bud's in MO...a 60' Tree gave way under the weight of snow landing on his beloved PowerCat and taking out most his garage. Marty said the PowerCat thank goodness only had minor damage and he spent the day shoveling 400-600 pounds of ice and bark out of her and she's been moved to a dry location. Alas my other bud just an hour from Marty, Bob, had THREE boats flattened by a 150 year old oak! Thank goodness they are all right, but a sad day for boats.
