side name

    Was the name on the side of the 18's from the 60's a decal or a plate screwed on? thanks

    1973 Hydrodyne 18 w/Twin 1150 Mercs
    It was a plate that screws on with 8 screws. You can see in the following picture.

    77 Dyne 18 I/O converted to Outboard
    Mine has that plate also and I like that the best. I have seen them with the decal also like the boat of the month. I don't know if the decal is original though.

    They are easy to damage around the dock. You could look into having them reproduced.

    If you are reffering to my boat '78 hydrodyne [boat of the month]. It originaly had a plate, because there are 8 holes on each side
