Here is a link to a wiring article written by the webmaster (Greg Terzian) over at Scream and FLy. Check it out. It includes the wiring color codes. He shows how to do it right.

I am also including another color code picture because it includes trailer codes too.

    Edd,

is this correct in this diagram for the bow light?

if so can you connect the stern light to that same switch?

as far as guage lighting goes take from the ground post on the guage then to the grounding strip ,from the grounding strip
to positive wire of the individual circuit?

when it comes to linking is it wise to start at the first positive and use seperate jumpers, rather than start at one to the other then connect a splice off of the second wire?

Sorry I haven't answered sooner but ski season has started in full force. LOL What I have done in the past is tie the dash lights to the bow light and used a second switch for the stern light. That way if your anchored at night you will only have 1 light on draining your battery. On the back of the tach gauge there should be a terminal marked LT which is the light, one marked GRND for ground, one marked SIG for signal from the tach, and 12V+ for 12volt supply. Your tach harness should supply everything with the exception of light. Just connect your light wire to your bow light switch then you can piggyback to the other gauge's.

The terminal block kit I use is from Mercury, part #F563 but when I went online I see they no longer carry it. But at least it shows you a picture. Just follow the prompts Accesories
,electrical, terminal block. I think Mark has used this site alot for his restoration, it is very user friendly. I like this style block because I can use half for ground and half for power.

Hope I've helped more than confused. lol
