I have been meaning to post this for some time. I did not know about these when my boat was redone: http://www.hydrostream.org/ArticleArchives/Woodscrews.htm jim
great point jim, I've never considered those for my boat. We use them to ancor to the composite floor in our service vans, but i've never thought about those for the boat.
What kind of floor do your service vans have? Do the anchors hold? Would a composite floor be practical in a Dyne in your opinion? I have been skeptical about fasteners being strong enough to anchor the Pylon and seats. jim
the floor in our sevice trucks is made by Weatherguard. It's an oil and slip resistant.. recycled something or other. We also have this unit called a pack-rat. It hold all of our copper fittings, and misc tools. It is bolted to the floor with a similar ancor. I have seen our van flipped from an accident, and the bolts snapped (sheared) but the ancor's held. Good enough for my books, but then again, i think the ancors, may be slightly different. I'll check their website, and post a link. Oh yeah, the pack rat and fittings weighs around 800 lbs, with 6 ancors holding it down. and 3/8" bolts.
