Are these folks using Sea Star Pro? I believe Sea Star has requirements as to how high an engine can be mounted for use with their systems. Since we switch motors every year or every other year, we get to see our systems up close and I've never noticed any fatigue. I know that there are plenty of people out there running cylinders that are not matched to that particular engine which causes binding on the tiller arm which could stress the bolt.
