Do any of you currently use boat buddy trailer locking devices on your hydrodynes? (18 Model)? I use one on my 1989 Mastercraft Prostar 190 and I really like it. I took it off today and tried to put it on my 1978 Hydrodyne 18 and the bow eye isn't long enough to engage the locking pin. The boat buddy that i currently have is the number 2 bigger model for 1/2" bow eye diameters. The number one model is for 3/8" diameter bow eyes but I'm still not sure if anythings going to change. I'm wondering it the bow eye just isn't long enough. Any thoughts? My 78 hydrodyne is on a 2009 Continental Aluminum trailer if this helps.

I think I have figured out what is wrong... I think my bow eye is just to short. Let me know wether you have a 3/8 or 1/2 bow eye and how long it is.

Most of the boat buddies I have seen no longer work, so I haven't bothered looking into it.

I do not have any problems with the boat sliding off the bunks on the trailer though, so I don't worry about it. I just give it a bit of gas when the truck starts moving then shut it down long before the prop comes out.
