The gas tank in my '74 Dyne is plastic and the previous owner said it holds 15 gallons.

Would this tank be the original or would it have been replaced at one time? It appears that the wooden board on the foot board is there to allow for access to the gas tank. Is this factory or a mod?

    Thanks,

    Kevin

My 77 had a steel tank. It now has plastic. I don't think the access door is original. Mine has a one piece carpeted bulkhead.

I'm figuring the plastic tank was a replacement for the old metal tank.

Nice to see that whoever did this replacement took the time to respray the flotation foam back on top of the tank. Or maybe this foam is in addition to what was originally in the bow?

My original tank was a 19 gallon aluminum tank. It was mounted in the same area, but had four metal brackets that slipped over the lip of the tank. Two in the front, two in the rear. I believe that was the original that came with them. When I purchased my new 18' I transferred that tank into that hull. When I mounted the tank, I too made a solid bulkhead that spanned across the entire width.
