Just picked this up from the Twin City River Rats. Its going to get a full restoration paint, interior, and a pair off something on the back. Will post pictures of the progress as we go, this is going to be something that I restore with my sons on the weekend. Let the FUN begin!!

I recognize that boat! I've been playing around with that boat for 13 years now. Good to hear it has a new home.

    Keep us posted :)

Just pulled off the stainless plate that was bolted on the transom to inspect for any rot, and noticed on both side the transom looks repaired or is this normal on a twin rig hull?

Those lines are from the plug the factory put in the single rig mold to make a twin rig in the mid to late 80s. I think about 89-90 or so they made a new mold which did not have to use the plug for a twin rig.

Check the transom carefully. The boat I'm currently restoring had a 3" thick transom for running twins, and looked very solid, but when the floor was cut out for replacement it was evident water wicked into the transom and weakened it. Even a 3" thick transom is no good if it's compromised.

In your pics it looks like your transom has many holes drilled in it that could have had water infiltrate it over the years. Poke a small screwdriver into the holes and see if it's dry, or wet and rotting.

Just pulled the carpet and it looks like the floor was replaced at one time. The edges were the floor meets the gunnel is all cracked only one layer of fiberglass was used, and the floor was cut short. When putting the new floor down how many coats of fiberglass mess should I put down? And is it easier to pull the top cap to get the floor down back by the transom? Thanks

The boat was rebuilt somewhere around 2001 by Tom Miller. I believe he re-did the floor, transom, and some other bits and pieces.

I haven't done one of these projects myself, so I can not give proper advice on how much glass to use. There are some pretty detailed threads on this site with good advice in these areas though. Good luck!

Well pulled up the floor this afternoon and it's been patched up once before. I did find 2 beer cans and a whole bunch of lead tire weights on the driverside back by the transom. Good news the stringers are good!!
