Here is one more picture of the area where the original "Hydrodyne" emblems had been fastened to the side of the boat. Since the new emblems will be decals, the holes in the hull from the original emblems were filled and reinforced. This shows the side of boat repaired and primed.

Some folks like the 3-D look of the older plastic or metal emblems, and I know that Brian Lawson, the Crosby boat rebuilder, had a batch of new ones made at one point. I decided to just stick with adhesive decals for several reasons. First, the decals don't require holes in the hull. Second, the decals don't become clogged with wax when you wax the boat. Next, the decals can easily be replaced if they are scratched or damaged. Finally, I have had some smaller "Hydrodyne" decals made to match the ones on the side of the boat. The small decals will be placed on either side of the instrument "bubble" and one will be placed on the lower dash inside the boat. You can't have the word "Hydrodyne" in too many places, after all!

Do you know where there are decals available ? I need to replace mine as they are faded out. I had a second set at one time, but they became faded and cracked from age. I was thinking of having them painted on the sides and covered in plexiglass. Mine are also all scratch up from bumping into docks.

    Thanks, Marty Segal

I came by this decal guy on Ebay. I just did a bit of research. The mailing address on the boxes he sent me is 603 W. 31st Street, Davenport, Iowa 52803. I back-tracked him in E-bay. His seller name is "member9106" According to his ebay page, it looks like his name is Kirk Frei. I have emailed him through Ebay and asked for his contact information and I will forward it as soon as he gets back to me. He appears to do a lot of marine decals and I am very pleased with what he sent me.

If anyone is looking for the newer style Blue/Red/Black logo sticker, I'm pretty sure Signs Now in Rockford can make one.

A couple of years ago I took the time to re-create the logo in Adobe Illustrator and they were able to make decals from it. I think they still have the logo on file. Pricing was pretty reasonable, too.

I have got a scan from when I had them made up on my Dyne a few years back. If you want me to shoot it to you in the mail, send me your mailing address and I will get it out to you. If it is the style that is shown under the Riverside Industries pics, then I've got it.

The decals I purchased can be viewed on this website. Just look at the posts regarding the restoration of my trailer. The decals on the trailer are the same ones that will be on my boat.

    Mark,

Did you finally get your boat back yet? If so, how does it look? Got any photos?

I have some of the original decals in the cursive style that I had made for my boat. If anyone needs some let me know I can get them made in any color for about $14 each, cheaper if I buy them in bulk. Right now all that I have are white ones that I used on the trailer and the back window of the truck.
