I think those aluminum frames could be used to built an observer seat like mine if they are still available.

Tom was always good at getting back to me when I was working with him to order my boat. He's not always in the office, and it's a small business. So it's quite possible that there is nobody there for a couple business days here and there. Give him a few days, if you don't hear back, try again.

I called Tom Miller again today, this time I called his regular and his toll free and both went to voicemail. I left a message but I really want to hear from him soon because i'm picking up my new motor tomorrow and I don't just want to buy just any old seats.

There are probably some very good custom upholstery shops in your area. If you go that route you can get exactly what you want and probably just as cheap as the bolt in seats. Seats are not that complicated. Look at the inboard ski boat sites. Some of them have nice configurations. If you go with a narrow drivers seat, it leaves more room for a nice wide bench.

If I ever do another Dyne I will build my own seats to get exactly what I want.

Here is an overhead shot of a Mastercraft PS190 from their site. As you can see the two observers are forward of the driver helping to hold the bow down. You can probably also see that in order to do that in an 18 Dyne the drivers seat needs to be narower than the bucket in the inboard.

That inboard is 91 inches wide and the baby Dyne is 72.

    River Rat -

Could you measure you seats for me? My project was delayed but I'm getting to the point that I need to order the stuff again. I just reread your post about your seats and since I completely redid my floor, I need to make sure that everything will fit as well. Could you also measure the base plates were everything attaches. Thanks for all your help!

I'll try to remember. I don't have time tonight, but should be able to this weekend. Keep pestering if I don't remember on my own.
