Well I pulled the Dyne out and fixed all of its issues from the end of last season. I had a fuel issue that I thought was a fuel pump since fuel still made it to the engine with the squeeze ball. As it turns out my inline fuel filter had a small crack so it was sucking air, not enough to prevent the ball from working but just enough to keep the fuel pump from sucking. Oh well, it was the first time the pump has been rebuilt so I guess it was time. I still have to replace the plug wires on the left engine (Did the other one a couple of years back) it also has the original plug wires. Other then that I will throw a coat of wax on it next weekend and hit the lake by Mid Month. It has been in the 80s here so it is the perfect time. Daniel What is everyone else doing?
Been busy moving, getting the old place ready to rent, building a new twin, waiting for a new motor for my boat, rigging a new motor to the team single, etc.... You know, the usual.
I've been waiting, waiting, waiting for my boat to be finished. As many of you know, it looked like something out of a Disney horror movie when I uncovered it this spring. We are getting everything replaced so it will be good as new, but I might just go duct tape the whole thing back together just so I can go skiing. And yes, those are raccoons.
Had the same thing happen to one of my Malibus years ago. The insurance company made good on the repairs, but we could not get the smell out of it. Everytime it would get wet, the smell would come back out. We tried everything to mask it but no good. Maybe you should mention it to your insurance company and they might be able to try something on yours. Good Luck !!!! Bob
They replaced all the carpeting, so I'm hoping that will take care of the smell. We just had a new floor put in last year. Watkins Marine told us they see 3 or 4 boats like this every year!
Ouch.... Perhaps when storing outside you should put something in there to make it inhospitable - like mothballs or something....
