Hi everyone, It's been a while! Things have been crazy! I have been working 7 days a week since st. patricks day. I will be taking a vacation next week to cape cod for a well deserved rest! What did I miss while I was gone? Anything worh talking about? I cannot wait to see all the new pics posted!! I finally got the motor started on the dyne after sitting for about 8 years. now it runs like a champ, but now the lower unit needs work. Hope to talk to everyone soon! It's great to be back!

You should check out the post about the Baby Dyne that went over during a show. It is an interesting bunch of pictures.

1987 150hp eninrude has not run in about 8 years

engine runs strong but strains then stalls when put into gear. hard to spin prop by hand

I assume you mean that the prop hard to spin by hand in neutral?

Drain the (hopefully) oil our of it and refill. Take the prop off and see if there is something like fishing line wrapped around the shaft and possibly getting into the seals.

If you get water out of it, it will need a rebuild.

I doubt if the gearcase is the problem. If it sat for 8 years, there is a bunch of things that need to be done to it.
