Any suggestions of where I can order a replacement windshield for my 1972 Hydrodyne? Used to get them from Taylor Made, but I can't find that any more. Thanks, Tom Goodnow, Edina, MN
Tom, Welcome to the site! I'm not sure if anyone still makes a windshield that will fit your dyne, but there are tons of dynes around that don't have windshields. I actually prefer to not have the windshield. It looks a lot cleaner, doesn't get in the way, doesn't waterspot/get hazy/get dirty, and doesn't break. Just make sure there is a pair of sunglasses for the driver, and you are all set! Also, it's good to hear from another Dyne owner in MN! There are a few of us starting to show up on the forums here. Since you are in the area, stop by and see the Twin Cities River Rats waterski show sometime. We are on the Mississippi River, just north of Broadway Ave. in Minneapolis. Shows are every thursday through Aug. at 7:00 p.m. (junior show starts around 6:30). It's good free family entertainment!
Tom, I'm a Twin City neighbor of yours as well and have to agree with RiverRat on this one. My 68 Dyne has no windshield and I wouldn't install a new one if you handed it to me. With a windshield on other boats, I spend most of my time on top of the back of my seat looking over it anyway. After failing to find a replacement, my neighbor just removed his windshield on his 74 dyne after seeing mine and the wind in the face is just part of the unique experience. Dave
Tom 1. Don't install a winshield. 2. If you can't live without a windshield, contact Tom Miller in Indiana. He can probably help. If not, then try PJP on this website. Contact information for both of these individuals can be found on posts on this website. Use the search tool. If you still can't find the info, let me know and I'll get it for you. Good luck. MarkBano
