Been there before. Kind of leaves the driver with a sunken feeling.

I think I saw a bit of fog starting in the 2" I-command last night, but I don't know if it's possible to open them up at all. I think they are a factory sealed instrument.

It is parked in the sun right now. I have the motor cover supported by some 2x4's on edge so it can get some airflow in there (didn't want to leave the cover all the way off while I was at work).

    And the spotter.

It's looking like the worst part (fortunately) is that I lost the boom, passenger footrest, and auxiliary motor (collapsible paddle) that I had in the boat.

Our smartcraft will fog up once in a while. leaving in sun usually works well. I cant wait to see pictures. I was also wondering did driver shut motors off or did water?

All of my instruments are older, but they have removable internal light bulbs. I guess on yours if you lose the light you have to replace the instrument?

The driver did not shut the motor off. Was probably too busy wishing he had a diaper on to think of it. I believe it was at idle speed though, because when we got it flipped upright again, the throttle was locked in neutral.

Should I pull the gauges out of the dash and let them bask in the sun?

    Jim,
My gauges have an LCD screen. If I lose the light, I can't see it day or night.

Be sure to check all electrical connections and place dielectric grease on them to inhibit corrosion. Hopefully the EMM will not have a failure in the future. The stuff is sealed, but the connectors can allow corrosion to creep. Do not run mixed oil in the fuel on a DI engine, the injectors do not like that. Fog the crap out of the cylinders.

I've been there and it is not fun.

Most common problem with ATB in the dyne is the driver making an initial turn that is too short and sharp and the guys stay straight out to the side of the pylon and pull the boat straight over sideways. The skiers should be at about the 2 o'clock position when you are done with your turn.

If it was mine, I would pull the starter off and take the armature out and blow the water out of the bottom.

    Must-ski,
I have the connectors all unplugged, and I am planning to re-lube them with dielectric before re-assembly

    Jim,
I'm going to look into popping the starter off. If it's not a major issue, I will definitely do it.

    Must-ski,
The E-Tec's have a flushing port near the water squirter. Can this be used in stead of water muffs, or should you go with the water muffs still? I am hoping to be able to do the fogging at home where I have better access to tools and supplies. I do have the muffs, just wondering if one way is better than the other.
