Anyone know the spacing for a pair of crossflow V4 OMC's? I'm building a twin rig from a 1976 model using a matched set of 1979 Johnson Javelin 100's.

I see you ended up with Charlie's boat. Are you fixing the delamination?

    That boat definitely had potential.

Spacing specs for any OMC V motor are 26" centerlines, however you may be able to and may need to go closer than that to fit them on an 18 foot dyne. If the motors are say, 21" wide you can infer that you would need 21" spacing for them to sit side by side and not turn. Since they are V engines they will get closer together as you turn them. You might be able to go to something like 23 or 24" spacing but have to limit the steering.

    Javelin 100's,

What is that escape hatch made out of aluminum deck plate on the left side of the front deck for ??
I've never seen anything like that before.

Kind of looks like an access port for the fuel tank and/or storage area in front.

Don't know who all the previous owners were, but this boat is now in my shop undergoing a restoration. It will get twin Merc 150 straight 6 engines. The hatch seemed to be for storage. Trouble is, it allowed water to get into the balsa core of the deck. About a 4' x 4' section is rotten and being replaced. Mike
