Ok, I have an Etec 250 on the back of my 20 foot dyne. I am currently running a 17 pitch rebel prop. I am wondering if i should change to a four blade, or go to a higher pitch prop. I am looking for just a little more top end but i don't want to loose any bottom end or mid range power. Any advise would be great. Thaks!

    Can't have both.

If you go to a 19..you'll get a little more top end but loose it off the bottom. I run both a 17 & 19 High Five on my 18 footer with a Mercury 250XS. The 17 pulls like a truck but will put it on the limiter real quick. Many of the O.M.C. fans don't care for the High Fives...but I've had good luck with them.

I have a 19 pitch Rebel that I would be willing to let you try out. If you like it, you can buy it. If not, ship it back. I had it on my 18' dyne for about 1 to 1-1/2 seasons total (some prop switching in the 3 years I had the 200 HO on it). I no longer have the 200 HO, so am looking into smaller props.

So, for the price of shipping both ways, you can try it. Or, a lot of dealers have demo props. Try one of theirs, if you like it, buy mine!

Just depends on your priority. With a 19 you won't maintain enough RPMs on top end to pull 5 footers at enough speed most probably. A dyne does not benefit from increased pitch generally because it has no lifting strakes or a pad to take advantage of engine height or a prop's bow or stern lifting characteristics. a 19 will also lug the engine more at lower speeds where you pull swivel/doubles etc and the speed increase or decrease on slight throttle adjustment may be more abrupt. An 18 Cyclone 4 blade could give you a good compromise but the big block E-Tecs with 1.85:1 ratio really run well with 17 pitch 3 blades.
