Dual Trim for Merc Side Mount Contols

    I don't remember if we discussed this, so I will talk about it. You might want to consider mounting the motors on wedges for extra in or down trim to help get the stern up on take off. The newer motors have more down trim than years ago, but it is not enough in my opinion.

    I have a very light motor, but I run a wedge. You can't feel my boat get on plain, the bow has almost no rise on takeoff and it is on plane almost immediately.

    We did talk about wedges a couple of years ago in a different thread and I am leaning that way.

    I have a wedge on my 18'er as well. Even with the big block 200, it had very little bow rise coming out of the hole, and would run fairly level at really low speeds compared to without the wedge. Makes it much easier to control speed for the slow speed stuff (little kids, snivel, etc.)
