    TJ,

I would appreciate any info on materials. I am going with wood for the cost. Also I would love to see your boat sometime. Let me know when is a good weekend. My email is dserafin58@comcast.net.

    Thanks,
    Dave

My boat is a converted I/O, so the splashwell is custom and considerably higher than the outboard. It is not obvious from the pictures, the footwell is about even with the front edge of the drivers seat. this is not critical, and some boats have no footwell/

    Hey David:

Since the web format has changed for Hydrodyners (a few years back). I can't access the pics re the front foot well that I possted for my 1975. I agree with Jim, don't elevate the stringers and have the ply deck at the same level as the top of the chines running down each side. It will put the driver way too high up. When I replaced my deck, it was 5 to 8 inches below the top of the chines (tapering down toward the bow) running down the side of the boat for the 1975 I owned. When I replaced the deck the stringers were original and did not need replacement. These pics may help, But I can't find a good pic of the foot well distance set back from the dash. Someone who has a factory spec boat should respond here.

Dave: I found the pics that I wanted to post but still dosen't provide the dimensions. This was taken after the floor repair and carpet replacement that I did back in 2000 on the 18 that I had (only the back deck had to be replaced). You can see in the pics that the floor beneath the seats was 8 to 10 inches lower than the chines at the front of the seat.

    Kevin,

Thanks! Those will help a lot. I also see the footwell starts at the front of the seat as Jim said, and just forward of the throttle. This would put it aft of the covered bow.

    Jim,

Great looking boat, thanks. I'm getting an idea how to do this.

    TJ,

Oops, hit the wrong button. I happen to have nothing on Saturday and would love to see it.

dave is coming to my place to check out my boat tomorrow. I am putting this out for any potential trollers or bad people. my cabin has state-of-the-art security that is monitored with cameras. I also have legal guns and a carry permit. don't even think about it. that being said I trust the serval posters that post regularly. sorry to have to bring up this kind of BS but it is the Internet and anyone can see it
