    Dave,

    I can give you a measurement of the foot well from the deck or the front bulkhead. However, this is your opportunity to customize the seat and foot well location to fit you.

    I would make the floor as low as possible, place the driver's seat as far right as possible, use a helm with up tilt, I would pace the helm centered on the instrument panel, which would make it to the left of the seat centerline. The seat location will depend on the length of your legs. Too close will make your legs interfere with the wheel.

    Jim,

    I intend to put the floor as low as possible and seat as far right. However the dual throttle controls may limit how far right. I'm planning on an adjustable seat.

    my floor is about as low as it could possibly be. Dave when you see mine later it should give you a good idea of how much room you have to play with.

    @TJ:

    Are you going to be anchoring your seats into the core (as pictured), or are you going to add stringers and create a deck with foot well? Not that it matters re the core with the material you used but was just curious. If balsa core is used, a stringer and deck combination are recommended to avoid intrusion, even with end- grain balsa. Just MHO.

    Post Script: Also curious about the fiberglassed thingy that you have under the closed bow and its purpose?

    not to hijack Dave's thread but I plan on building boxes and attaching them to the floor for seats. there is core under that floor up to where the old one was. I still have not finalized seating arrangement. the fiberglassed wood under the closed bow is a battery tray. Dave came over this afternoon and we spent a very productive hour discussing our two projects. hopefully soon we will have 3 active restoration threads

    Does anyone know a good source for Mercury parts, especially internal wiring harness?

    Thanks,
    Dave
